With over 30 years of experience on the operatic stage, I bring a lifetime of performing, and a lifetime of learning, to each lesson I teach. Whether you're a conservatoire student, a professional singer, or returning to singing after a break, I’ll help you build a voice that works under pressure, connects emotionally, and truly reflects who you are.

Why Work with Me

My own training has been deep and wide-ranging. I’m a long-time student of David L. Jones, whose teachings have shaped singers and voice teachers around the world. Before that, I studied with David Pollard, once considered the most successful teacher in the business, and with Rudolph Piernay, famed mentor of Bryn Terfel and many other internationally renowned singers.

I’ve also learned from extraordinary teachers like Robert Dean, David Barrell, and Carol Richardson. These influences have given me a flexible, adaptable teaching approach, one that draws from all major schools of classical singing.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all method. My job is to help you understand your voice: how it works, how to trust it, and how to make it serve your artistic goals.

A Bit About Me

I’m a British baritone, and I’ve sung leading roles at many of the world’s top opera houses - The Royal Opera, Covent Garden, English National Opera etc. Plus many of the world’s leading orchestras. Teaching, for me, isn’t something I’ve turned to late in my career, it’s something I’ve pursued alongside performing for many years, with a deep passion for the craft and the science of singing.

I’m always learning, always listening, and always aiming to bring clarity, kindness, and precision to the singers I work with. My students perform in houses and festivals all over the world, and my greatest joy is helping them discover and trust their own voices.
